Home Technology Brief:
Inspired Dwellings delivered a standalone wireless audio system for leading Michelin star restaurant, The Square, Mayfair.
A stone’s throw from the historic Berkeley Square, this Mayfair restaurant has been the gathering place for London’s foodie elitist since its opening in 1992.
When co-owner and head chef Phil Howard, started looking for a surround sound system for the restaurant’s private dining room, we were only too happy to help.
Plans were drawn up to transform the elegant private dining room, capable of sitting 8 – 18 guests, into an audio-visual-ready haven. With business meetings, presentations and private celebrations all regularly utilising the elegant space, early plans included surround sound, hidden movie screens and great acoustics.
The trouble came in scheduling installation dates for such a busy restaurant.
The Inspired Solution:
Inspired Dwellings suggested an intermediate solution, which allowed for a plug and play sound system, without encroaching on the room’s classic design.
Utilising two sleek and minimalist Sonos speakers (no-more than 17cm high and weighing less than 2kg), the foodie entrepreneur had his sound system up and running in less than an hour.
Guests can play, create and stream new or existing playlists through the Sonos app, or simply enjoy the playlist played through the restaurant’s main office.
Meanwhile, main works have been put on hold, to coincide with further alterations. Keep checking back for more updates!
