Luxury Chelsea Apartment

Home Technology Brief:

“To design and install a system of seamless integration and control of Audio, TV & Lighting. A listed building, technology must complement existing classic features, without compromising on functionality.”

The Best of Old & New:

We worked with leading London architects, Roland Cowan, who were transforming two apartments in this historic former hospital into one unique living space. They were bringing the best of modern design to a classic building and needed audio-visual and lighting to work alongside features old and new.

The Challenges:

We needed to create a control system for visually stunning lighting to sit with a visually discrete entertainment and audio visual system. The listed status of this building, along with designer’s intentions for the traditional beams and stone arches, meant our design had to complement such features, without disrupting a classic style.

The Inspired Solution:

We worked with the architects to create a control system for the lighting that not only enhanced their designs but was simple to control. LED lighting strips accentuate the design and architectural features throughout the property, whilst retaining energy efficiency.

The audio system is subtle yet sophisticated. Using the discreet wall pads or their iPads, the family can control their entire music collection from anywhere in the house, all played through the finest-quality ceiling speakers, each of which blend into their surroundings (right down to the waterproof TV in the master bedroom).

To complete their home entertainment, we installed a 55-inch screen into a bespoke mezzanine home cinema room, where the motorized blinds and colour-wash lighting provide the perfect movie hide-away.
